BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Design

About the course

The BA(Hons) Interior Architecture and Design at Lincoln seeks to understand the relationship between people, activities, and places. Our multidisciplinary approach to the subject positions it between architecture and the fast-moving world of contemporary visual culture. The programme fosters the application of design-led intelligence in the creation of spaces where people can live, work, and play. Participants experience an approach to interior architecture and design that embraces the associated realms of interior architecture, interior design and contemporary visual culture. The course exposes students to an exciting and challenging range of professional skills that focus on drawing, making and thinking, activities that we believe lie at the heart of all good design. Practical design knowledge is delivered in the design studio, where students learn about design creativity, space making, problem solving, and building technology. Studio learning and practice is supported by a comprehensive range of lecture and seminar programmes that ground the student’s studio practice in the history of architecture and design. The course also supports students in finding work experience opportunities throughout the UK with a wide range of interior design and architectural practices. The course features regular opportunities to enter ‘live’ projects with real clients and also engages students in research led projects.
