About the course
The BA (Hons) Interior Design at Southampton Solent University offers a unique blend of aesthetics and innovation. It brings together creative and practical skills and covers both domestic and commercial interior design.
It is an exciting and professionally oriented course, which embraces a distinctive approach through studio-based design studies of interior space and volume planning, complemented by awareness of sustainability, colour and texture, and professional practice.
The BA Hons Interior Design course has developed into an established and industry recognised provider of excellent graduates. Students are provided with the opportunity to learn and engage with developments of future importance such as sustainability, retrofit and advancement in material technology within the built environment sector. Amongst the initiatives for the course development are the integration of live project briefs with our strong links with Maritime, further enhancing our already substantial group of employers with marine portfolios. Also, the course will be involved with the redevelopment project of the University campus, giving the students first hand experience of commercial interior design.
