BA (Hons) Interior Design

About the course

The honours degree programme has been designed in response to an increasing demand within Industry for Honours degree level employee’s specific skills relating to interior architecture: advanced spatial planning, technology, presentation and visualisation techniques.
Students are required to pursue research, apply knowledge of building technology, organise and manage interior project solutions within the regulatory frameworks that govern design, architecture and building construction.

Graduates who successfully complete this programme will have an advanced knowledge and experience of creating, analysing and interpreting briefs. They will understand how a structured response to problem solving through the correct application of research and concept. They will have advanced skills in space planning, design detailing, materials development, selection and specification. Critical thinking, Communication and presentation skills are emphasised together with time management and detailing to create an advanced candidate for employment.

This programme is validated by the IE (Interior Educators), European Council of Interior Architects (ECIA) and the Institute of Designers in Ireland (IDI)
