BA (Hons) Interior Design
About the course
Interior Design (Interior Architecture and Spatial Design) at De Montfort University allows students to explore the values of social and cultural identity in design and communicate contemporary environments relevant in a fast changing global world. It enables students to explore different fields within interior design and develop high levels of technical skill and design knowledge supporting individual creative processes. It challenges and develops each individual student whilst fully preparing them for employment as a professional designer.
External design companies set regular projects that simulate working in practice. This collaborative approach develops awareness of future work opportunities in the field of interiors and introduces students to important networking opportunities with our alumni and working professionals. Tutors’ areas of design specialism and research reflect their commercial experiences; these commercial design areas are incorporated into the structure of the course in Year 2 and allow students to explore areas of personal interest within interior design.
