Andrew Stone

Andrew Stone is the Head of The Sir John Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design at London Metropolitan University. He has been involved with art, architecture and design education for over 25 years; teaching, leading, examining and developing courses throughout the UK and overseas. Andy studied Interior Design at Middlesex and then a Masters in the History of Modern Architecture from the Bartlett School of Architecture at UCL, and has practiced in various Architecture and Design studios in London. His fascination is the interior, and particularly the Interior Designer’s role in producing environments that choreograph inhabitants’ spatial relationship between the city, interior and those daily artefacts and components that support and inform our lives.

Andy was Chair of Interior Educators (2008-10) and Vice Chair (2010-11). He is on the editorial board of Interiors: Design, Architecture, Culture (Berg Publishers), and for the peer reviewed e-journals, IE: Studio and Architecture_Media_Politics_Society.

David Littlefield

David Littlefield co-edited this edition of IE:Studio. David is a Senior Lecturer at the University of the West of England, Bristol. He founded the BA (Hons) Interior Architecture programme at UWE in 2012 and now shares programme leadership with Tonia Carless. He also co-founded the MA Urban Design which is scheduled to commence in September 2019. David’s principle area of research is urban memory, including notions of heritage and sense of place.

David studied at the University of Birmingham, Central St Martins and Chelsea College of Arts. He is an editorial board member of Interiors: Design, Architecture, Culture. David is IE Council Chair for Research & Enterprise.
